The Challenge

logo_pet-pow2005-2.gifHigher power requirements and lower operating voltages of modern microprocessor architectures are constantly driving system-wide increases in electrical current. As power system engineers are increasingly faced with the challenge to pack more current in smaller form factors, conventional power interconnection technologies have become inadequate to route the necessary currents within the more stringent power demands and thermal constraints that modern systems require.

The Tribotek Solution

Inspired by the principles of tribology, Tribotek decoupled the two critical design objectives in power connector design: conducting current and generating normal force. The result is the LowR Contact System, which uses a fundamentally different interface physics that combines massively parallel points of contact and pure copper conductors to achieve significantly superior electrical performance.
