The Challenge

Higher power requirements and lower operating voltages of modern microprocessor architectures are constantly driving system-wide increases in electrical current. As power system engineers are increasingly faced with the challenge to pack more current in smaller form factors, conventional power interconnection technologies have become inadequate to route the necessary currents within the more stringent power demands and thermal constraints that modern systems require.
